Would You Sleep Your Way to The Top?

Would you sleep with someone to further your career or even your business? 
 
Ben Angel confesses in his new book, Sleeping Your Way to The Top in Business – The Ultimate Guide to Attracting & Seducing More Customers, that he slept with his first manager at the tender age of 18. Angel says, ‘I must have done something right because I experienced a massive rise (all puns intended) but sadly not the promotion I was really after.” 

Sporting a bright pink condom on the front cover and a purple pill packet on the back, Angel’s book is certainly not for the fainthearted. His methods for attracting new clients to business are unorthodox and some would even say controversial. 

Angel says, “The marketplace is flooded with lookalike businesses, the only way to stand out and attract more customers is to do something very different. Business can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines and remain quiet. With the advent of social media we have seen a significant rise in the number of channels in which consumers are bombarded with by marketing communications. To achieve cut through it is going to take more than a well designed brochure or website to stand out. It requires much, much more.” 

But are all businesses willing to do ‘whatever it takes,’ as Ben likes to say to make it work for them? 

“Absolutely not but then again I’m not actually encouraging them to sleep with every Tom, Dick or Harry or anyone for that matter. Ok, maybe just one person but that’s it I promise! My book simply exists to introduce them to a kaleidoscope of marketing techniques and a very unique way of thinking about them. I provide them with real marketing strategies on; networking, personal branding, how to dress to seduce new customers, what energetic engagement is and how it’s failing in their business every single day, personal branding, how to flirt with crucial influencers and the one and only person they really need to sleep with to get a head (-job) in business. And it’s not who you may think!” Angel says with a cheeky tone. 

Ben’s book is a revealing read, not only about his business success but his substantial personal failings. He discusses how losing his father almost destroyed his business and what it took to overcome depression that almost crippled him as a teenager and later as an adult. 

The process of reading Sleeping Your Way to The Top in Business was an eye opening one. He has not only succeeded in writing about marketing with a unique angle not covered to date, he has done it with a Joan River’s styled humour to boot. You certainly won’t miss the swear words, the slap in your face approach or the emotional rollercoaster that this book takes the reader on.
